CYANOTYPE

Cyanotypes prints are not photographs. Not really.
Naturalis Historia by Pliny the Elder tells the story of the origin of painting that would have arisen from the desire of a young woman to fix the outline of the shadow of his beloved on the wall just before he was about to separate from her. This series consist in a 1:1 scale negative record of a shadow without the use of a camera. Photography typically uses lenses to project light on to film, and then on to paper, in order to render an objective representation of a scene or object. Through the cyanotype I write with light, stripped of so much of what is technology.
